Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir recently made a significant visit to Awaran district in Balochistan. During his trip, he received updates on the security situation and learned about the Pakistan Army’s efforts in boosting socio-economic development and agriculture in the region.
General Munir took time to connect with local elders, farmers, and the families of martyrs. He assured them of the army’s unwavering commitment to their safety and well-being, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
Engaging with the community leaders and agriculturalists, Gen Munir highlighted the crucial role of agriculture. He reiterated the army’s dedication to the Green Pakistan Initiative and pledged extensive support to farmers. This support includes easy access to loans, seeds, fertilizers, solar tube wells, and expert guidance, aiming to empower local farmers for active participation in the progress of Pakistan.
In a significant move, the army chief inaugurated the Cadet College Awaran, emphasizing the army’s commitment to education and skill development in Balochistan. He commended the establishment of the new cadet college, expressing the army’s continued collaboration with civil departments for development and relief efforts in the region.
Reflecting on Balochistan’s importance for the nation, COAS General Munir stated, “The success of Balochistan is the success of Pakistan.” He praised the resilience of the people of Balochistan and reassured ongoing support from the armed forces for peace and prosperity.
The visit commenced with General Munir being welcomed by the Balochistan Corps Commander upon his arrival.
