In a honorable moment for Pakistan, 26-year-old Alizey Khan has been honored with the prestigious Diana Legacy Award, marking the first time a Pakistani woman has received this recognition. The award ceremony took place in London on Thursday, March 14th, where Prince William himself presented Alizey with the esteemed accolade.
The Diana Legacy Award, bestowed every two years, celebrates the remarkable contributions of 20 young leaders worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to social action and humanitarian efforts. This year, Alizey’s tireless work caught the attention of the judging panel, chaired by Baroness Doreen Lawrence, amidst tough competition from a pool of exceptional individuals recognized for their impactful initiatives.
Establishing the Ruhil Foundation, Alizey has been at the forefront of combating food insecurity by providing ration bags and cooked meals to those in need. Her initiatives extend beyond mere sustenance, as she also offers support for weddings and organizes hygiene drives in underdeveloped areas. Not stopping there, Alizey is actively involved in ensuring education for the children and fundraising for orphanages in Lahore.
Throughout the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alizey’s efforts only intensified as she distributed ration bags to flood-affected regions in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, showcasing her unwavering commitment to serving her community.
