Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 50th goal for Al Nassr, helping them end a four-match winless streak with a 1-0 victory over Al Ahli, as reported by Goal.
The Portuguese star’s historic goal secured Al Nassr’s second place in the Saudi Pro League, also known as Roshn Saudi League (RSL). Ronaldo could have netted earlier in the 42nd minute, but the video assistant referee (VAR) ruled him offside during the buildup.
The match showcased European talent with players like Roberto Firmino, Frank Kessie, and Riyadh Mahrez featuring for Al Ahli against Ronaldo’s Al Nassr.
Both teams played cautiously in the first half but ramped up their efforts after halftime. Ronaldo’s decisive goal came in the final 10 minutes, reducing the gap to league leaders Al Hilal to nine points.
Ronaldo expressed his joy on Instagram, posting a picture of him celebrating with his team and captioning it, “Back to winning ways. Let’s go team!!” He will soon join his Portugal teammates for international fixtures against Sweden and Slovenia.
Following his national team duties, Ronaldo will return to Riyadh to face Al Tai on March 30.
