In a tragic incident, seven Pakistani soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel and a captain, were martyred while bravely fighting terrorists who attacked a security forces’ post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan District. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported the incident on Saturday.
According to the ISPR, a group of six terrorists launched an assault on the post in the early hours of the day. Despite the soldiers’ efforts to thwart the initial intrusion, the terrorists managed to ram an explosive-laden vehicle into the post. This was followed by multiple suicide bombings, causing a portion of the building to collapse and resulting in the martyrdom of the soldiers.
In the ensuing clearance operation, led by Lieutenant Colonel Kashif, all six terrorists were effectively neutralized.
The brave soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Havildar Sabir, Naik Khurshid, Sepoy Nasir, Sepoy Raja, and Sepoy Sajjad. Additionally, Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Badar made the ultimate sacrifice while engaging the terrorists in intense gunfire. Lieutenant Colonel Ali was from Karachi, while Captain Badar hailed from District Talagang.
The ISPR stated that a sanitization operation is underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area. The security forces reiterated their determination to eradicate terrorism from the country, emphasizing that the sacrifices of their brave soldiers only strengthen their resolve.
