Najaf Hameed, the sibling of former ISI director general Lt (retd) Gen. Faiz Hameed, found himself in hot water as he was arrested in connection to a graft case. The arrest took place on Monday, with anti-graft authorities nabbing Najaf Hameed from the Rawalpindi court premises. It’s reported that he was sought after in a case and had been out on bail.
The situation unfolded when a local case involving Najaf Hameed was brought before the court on Monday, albeit with some delay. Despite his attempts for interim bail, the judge ruled against it, consequently ordering his immediate arrest.
Following the judge’s decision, anti-graft officials took Najaf Hameed into custody, escorting him to Chakwal. He is expected to appear before the court on Tuesday for further legal proceedings.
Najaf Hameed, formerly employed as Tehsildar until his dismissal last year, faces allegations related to fraud and forgery, with the anti-corruption department in Chakwal registering a case against him under relevant sections of the law.
