Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, accompanied by her father and PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif, spearheaded a pivotal meeting centered on bolstering transportation infrastructure across the province. The session primarily focused on launching an underground train project in Lahore and implementing metro bus initiatives in three Punjab cities.
During the meeting, the chief minister stressed the importance of careful planning for the Lahore underground train project, urging for a comprehensive plan. Discussions also revolved around the metro bus projects in three cities, with detailed insights shared on various transportation facets, including providing bikes for students.

Following these directives, it was revealed that 19,000 petrol bikes and 1,000 electric bikes would be offered to students with valid licenses on interest-free monthly installments. Petrol bike installments will be below Rs5,000, while e-bike installments will be below Rs10,000.
Moreover, a quota system was established to ensure equal opportunities for male and female students, with a 50% allocation each in cities and a 70% quota for male students and 30% for female students in villages.
Additionally, plans were unveiled to introduce 27 fully electric buses in Lahore, aligning with the government’s green transportation initiatives.
