In a historic move for Pakistan’s hockey scene, Syeda Shehla Raza, a prominent figure in the People’s Party and Member of the National Assembly (MNA), has been elected as the President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF). This milestone was achieved during an extraordinary meeting convened by PHF Secretary Haider Hussain in Karachi.
The gathering saw the participation of key representatives from institutions like the National Bank and Pakistan Customs, alongside 54 out of 64 members of the PHF Congress. Among them, Shehla Raza secured her position as president with a unanimous vote, marking a significant moment as she becomes the first woman to hold this esteemed position within the federation.
Shuja Iqbal Pasha also clinched a role within the PHF, being elected as the Finance Secretary during the same meeting. Notably, Shehla Raza had previously served as the Vice President of the PHF, bringing valuable experience to her new role as president.
Looking ahead, another pivotal meeting is set to take place in Islamabad under the leadership of Rana Mujahid, chairing the second group of the Hockey Federation.
