Former federal minister and Senator Talha Mehmood made a significant move on Tuesday, announcing his entry into the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). This decision marked his departure from his previous political home, the Jamiaat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F).
In a statement, Mehmood highlighted his longstanding affiliation with the JUI-F, stating, “I have never been a part of any party except Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam.” However, he underscored the current economic and political challenges facing Pakistan, suggesting a need for proactive measures.
Mehmood expressed his belief in Pakistan’s capability to overcome these challenges, stressing the importance of collective efforts. He remarked, “Pakistan will have to play its role to get out of the crisis,” indicating his commitment to contributing to the nation’s progress.
His move to join the PPP comes amidst a backdrop of evolving political dynamics in Pakistan, with implications for the country’s future trajectory.
