In a heartwarming display of unity, the Lancashire Cricket Foundation played host to a remarkable interfaith Iftar dinner event at the historic Old Trafford Cricket Ground on Thursday.
Dignitaries from various spheres of society, including representatives from King Charles, members of the British Parliament, and officials from the British Army, graced the occasion with their presence.
The event saw a remarkable turnout of notable social and political figures from diverse faiths and communities, with the Lord Mayor of Manchester, the Leader of Manchester City Council, councillors, and officers from the Greater Manchester Police all coming together in a show of solidarity with the Muslim community.
Reflecting on the significance of the event, Mike Russell, Chief Inspector of the Greater Manchester Police, remarked, “It is a great event to be involved in where multiple communities come together in Manchester.”
Lindsey M Forbes, Deputy Commander of Army Headquarters North West, shared her sentiments, saying, “I just like to thank you for inviting me this evening to this wonderful event. This was my first iftar and I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
