COAS vows stern action against propaganda at Corps Commanders’ conference

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir, during the 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference, denounced malicious propaganda targeting armed forces and pledged rigorous action against those spreading unfounded allegations.

The 264th Corps Commanders’ Conference witnessed COAS General Syed Asim Munir addressing concerns over the proliferation of baseless propaganda against the armed forces. He affirmed a commitment to thwart efforts aimed at creating a divide between the nation and security forces through false accusations. The conference, held on Tuesday, also commemorated the sacrifices of martyrs, honoring those who laid down their lives for the nation’s peace and stability.

Highlighting the detrimental impact of unfounded allegations, the forum emphasized the need to counter such propaganda. General Munir reiterated the army’s dedication to supporting the government in achieving socioeconomic progress, particularly in countering illegal activities like smuggling and terrorism.

Commending the efforts of Pakistan Army and law enforcement agencies in combating terrorism, General Munir directed commanders to maintain vigilance and deny space to terrorist elements. The conference condemned recent terrorist attacks, including those against Chinese nationals and civilians in Balochistan.

Addressing regional security concerns, the commanders discussed the threat posed by terrorist groups operating from Afghanistan and the ongoing tensions in Indian-administered Kashmir. They reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people and expressed solidarity with Palestine against human rights violations.

Expressing apprehension over escalating tensions in the Middle East, the forum urged immediate de-escalation to prevent a broader conflict. General Munir stressed the importance of operational preparedness and professional excellence, urging field commanders to uphold the highest standards.

The Corps Commanders’ Conference concluded with a resolute commitment to combatting propaganda and ensuring national security in the face of evolving regional challenges.
