Pakistan’s rising stars shine in Qatar Junior Squash Championship

Abdullah Zaman and Ahmed Ali Naz showcased Pakistan’s burgeoning squash talent at the recently concluded Qatar Junior Squash Championship in Doha. Despite falling short in the finals, the duo’s performances drew praise from spectators and officials alike.

Abdullah Zaman, hailing from a distinguished lineage of squash players as the grandson of the legendary Qamar Zaman, clinched the silver medal in the Boys Under-15 category. His remarkable skills and strategic prowess on the court left the audience spellbound, establishing him as a formidable contender in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Ali Naz secured the silver medal in the Boys Under-11 category, displaying exceptional agility, quick reflexes, and sportsmanship throughout the competition. His on-court strategies impressed both fans and opponents, solidifying his status as a rising star in Pakistan’s squash scene.

Notably, Rayyan Zaman, Abdullah’s younger brother, showcased his talent by reaching the semifinals of the Boys Under-11 event, further highlighting the family’s dominance in the sport. Their father, Mansoor Zaman, a former player himself, contributed to their upbringing in the squash world.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Squash Association expressed pride in the achievements of these young athletes, emphasizing their representation of the region’s talent pool. In a statement, they commended the players for their exceptional performance against tough international competition, underscoring their potential as future champions.
