Pakistan’s pace sensation Haris Rauf is poised for a return to international action as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gears up to announce the squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. Rauf sustained an injury during the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), but he is expected to make a comeback for the national team.
The PCB revealed that the Pakistan squad for the tours of Ireland and England will be unveiled on Thursday, May 2, with the chief selector addressing the press conference. The team, captained by the talented Babar Azam, is slated to lock horns with Ireland in a three-match T20I series scheduled from May 10 to 14.
Following the series against Ireland, Pakistan will embark on a tour of England where they are set to play four T20Is. This series holds significant importance as it precedes the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which is set to take place jointly in the United States and the West Indies.
Insider sources disclosed on Wednesday that major alterations in the T20I squad, which faced New Zealand previously, are not anticipated. However, the inclusion of Rauf brings a potential boost to Pakistan’s bowling lineup ahead of the crucial series.
While the squad for the World T20 Cup will be announced later, the imminent return of Haris Rauf adds excitement and anticipation among cricket enthusiasts as Pakistan aims for success in the upcoming international fixtures.
