Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has unveiled the ambitious Field Hospitals Project, aimed at bringing healthcare services directly to the doorsteps of the people across the province. In a ceremony held in Lahore on Wednesday, the Chief Minister expressed her satisfaction that the long-envisioned dream shared with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has finally come to fruition.
During her speech at the inauguration ceremony, Maryam Nawaz announced the initiation of 32 field hospitals strategically positioned throughout Punjab, with the inaugural facility located in Bahawalpur. These hospitals are poised to cater primarily to the healthcare needs of villages and remote areas, addressing the longstanding issue of limited access to medical facilities in these regions.
Highlighting the comprehensive scope of services offered by the field hospitals, the Chief Minister emphasized the inclusion of outpatient departments (OPDs), immunization services for newborns, maternity care, surgical facilities, and the deployment of lady health workers.
Asserting her government’s unwavering commitment to ensuring widespread access to healthcare services, Maryam Nawaz underscored the rapid establishment of numerous field hospitals within just six months of assuming office in Punjab.
In a subtle rebuke to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Maryam Nawaz made reference to the previous use of containers for disruptive purposes, stating that they will now be repurposed as platforms for dispensing crucial medical aid to the populace.
Furthermore, the Chief Minister called upon critics, particularly those scrutinizing her initiatives via videos, to actively participate in public service endeavors. She attributed the inception of the Field Hospitals Project to the visionary leadership of Nawaz Sharif, reaffirming her dedication to following his path of progress and development.
