In a significant address at the Pakistan Air Force’s passing out parade at the Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir reiterated the military’s commitment to upholding constitutional boundaries while expecting othersa to do the same.
General Asim underscored the importance of Article 19 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which delineates the limits of freedom of speech and expression. He emphasized that those who disregard these constitutional constraints cannot criticize others for their actions.
Praising the professionalism of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), General Asim hailed the force’s dedication to national expectations. He highlighted the pivotal role of the PAF in safeguarding the nation’s airspace, especially citing their exemplary performance during challenging times such as the events of February 2019.
Directing his words to the cadets, the army chief instilled a sense of responsibility, declaring them as the hope of the nation and the guardians of regional unity. He urged them to embody traits of character, courage, and competence throughout their careers.
General Asim expressed confidence in the cadets’ commitment to defending the nation’s integrity and emphasized the importance of maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and bravery.
Shifting focus to regional peace and security, the army chief cautioned against the destabilizing effects of an arms race. He also voiced concerns over the ongoing conflict in Palestine, condemning the indiscriminate violence that continues to claim innocent lives.
Regarding the Kashmir issue, General Asim condemned India’s illegal occupation of the region and emphasized Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to providing moral, political, and diplomatic backing to the Kashmiri cause.
