Global Summit in Pakistan promotes religious freedom, interfaith harmony

Representatives from across the globe gathered in Pakistan for the International Religious Freedom and Interfaith Harmony Summit 2024, organized by the Sustainable Social Development Organization (SSDO) and All Neighbors America. The summit, which drew the participation of world leaders, religious figures, government officials, and civil society representatives, aimed to address the challenges confronting religious freedom and the rising tide of extremism worldwide.

Throughout the summit, held in various major cities including Karachi, Quetta, Lahore, Peshawar, and Jardanwala, participants underscored the importance of fostering peace, development, and social harmony. Discussions centered on stimulating cooperation and mutual understanding among diverse religious and cultural communities, not only within Pakistan but also across international borders.

A key focus of the summit was on promoting inter-religious harmony, with the All Neighbors Organization emphasizing the necessity of integrating such teachings into Pakistan’s educational curriculum. The delegation from the United States, part of the All Neighbors Organization, highlighted the freedom enjoyed by people of different faiths in Pakistan, emphasizing that Muslims and individuals of other religions worship freely without restriction.

“In Pakistan, there is no restriction on minorities in matters of religion, and not all Pakistanis condone violence in religious affairs,” stated the American delegation in Islamabad. They commended Pakistan’s peaceful environment, asserting that individuals of all religious backgrounds coexist harmoniously without discrimination.
