At the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting (CFM) held in Banjul, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar delivered a strong message, insisting on accountability for Israel’s alleged war crimes. Speaking passionately, the deputy prime minister stressed the immediate need for transparency and complete security, urging decisive action.
“The Security Council must swiftly enforce Resolution 2728, ensuring the prompt return of displaced Palestinians to their rightful homes,” Dar asserted, underlining the urgency of the situation.
Furthermore, Dar emphasized the imperative of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the uninterrupted delivery of humanitarian aid to its inhabitants. He condemned Israel’s blockade of Gaza as inhumane and called for its immediate cessation.
In outlining potential solutions to the ongoing crisis, Dar articulated key points aimed at addressing the Gaza situation, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson.
Expressing profound concern over recent Israeli actions against Palestinians, Dar lauded the efforts of the Saudi government, particularly its leadership during its previous tenure at the OIC.
Dar’s statements at the CFM underscore the growing international pressure on Israel to be held accountable for its actions in the region, signaling a united front among OIC member states in addressing the Palestinian issue.
