In a significant political development, the Punjab chapter of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) convened with party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari at Zardari House in Islamabad to discuss the appointment of the next Punjab Governor. Following the meeting, Sardar Salim Haider emerged as the nominee for the gubernatorial position.
A notification regarding the appointment is anticipated to be issued imminently, possibly as early as today.
Prominent figures from the PPP Punjab chapter, including Raja Pervez Ashraf, Hassan Murtaza, and Shehzad Saeed Cheema, were among those in attendance at the crucial gathering. Additionally, Sardar Salim Haider and Nadeem Afzal Chan were present to partake in the deliberations.
Expressing his acknowledgment of the nomination, Sardar Salim Haider remarked, “I am being made the Governor of Punjab,” reflecting the confidence placed in him by the party leadership.
