In a series of successful operations spanning from April 28 to May 4, 2024, the Pakistan Coast Guards have intercepted and recovered a substantial cache of drugs, oil, and various daily necessities along the coastal areas from Jiuni to Hub.
Acting on undisclosed intelligence regarding illicit activities involving drug and goods smuggling via sea routes, the Pakistan Coast Guards launched targeted operations in the Gwadar district, resulting in significant seizures.
The recovered items include 1.6 kg of ice, 1149 packets of mixed gutka, 917 cigarettes, 823 kg of mixed cloth, 6 bags of dairy products, 132 cotton bakery products, 11 bags of daily use items, 432 kg of Rajapati, 25 kg of Open leaf, 2252 liters of cooking oil, 13 cartons of juice, 29 bags of Chinese salt, 1 carton of perfume, 20 pieces of crockery in electrical appliances, 5 pieces of CTN solar inverter, 1 inhaler in medicine, 5 plastic bags, dry imaging film totaling 40 packets, Gillette Razor 12 cartons, 11 tires, 18 cartons of spare parts, 6 vehicles, 33 speed boats, 18410 petrol, and 52493 liters of diesel.
The value of the intercepted contraband amounts to billions of rupees, marking a significant blow to illicit smuggling networks operating along Pakistan’s coastline.
The Pakistan Coast Guards remain vigilant in their efforts to curb maritime smuggling activities, ensuring the security and integrity of the nation’s coastal borders.
