The Republic of Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister, Bakhtiyor Saidov, is set to embark on an official visit to Islamabad on May 8th and 9th, 2024, as announced by the Foreign Affairs ministry on Tuesday.
During his visit, Minister Saidov will engage in crucial meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and hold extensive discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, covering a broad spectrum of bilateral issues, with a particular emphasis on trade and connectivity.
The forthcoming visit of the Uzbekistan Foreign Minister is anticipated to inject fresh momentum into the amicable relations shared between the two nations.
In a related development, reports suggest that Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud, is likely to pay a visit to Pakistan in May.
This visit marks the first instance of the Saudi Crown Prince’s presence in Pakistan in half a decade, with his last visit dating back to February 2019. Accompanied by a delegation, Prince Mohammed Bin Salman is expected to arrive in Pakistan.
During the visit, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) pertaining to a $5 billion investment are anticipated to be inked, according to insider sources, who also indicate that the precise dates for the Crown Prince’s visit are currently being finalized.
This visit will facilitate the third face-to-face meeting between Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman within a span of five weeks.
Notably, a recent high-level trade delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Deputy Minister for Investment, Ibrahim al-Mubarak, visited Pakistan with the aim of exploring investment avenues across various sectors and fostering robust relationships with local entrepreneurs. The delegation comprised representatives from approximately 35 companies spanning diverse economic sectors.
