In a bid to provide economic relief to its citizens, the Punjab government has announced a substantial decrease in the prices of flour bags across various divisions within the province.
The decision, spearheaded by Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yasin, comes as a response to the prevailing economic challenges faced by the populace. Yasin affirmed the government’s commitment to mitigating financial burdens on the masses.
As per the new pricing structure, a 10kg bag of flour is now available at Rs800 in Lahore and Sargodha divisions, while Faisalabad Division witnesses a slight increase to Rs830. Similarly, residents of Sahiwal Division can procure a bag for Rs820, and those in Gujrat Division will find it priced at Rs850.
In DG Khan Division, the cost stands at Rs860, with Bahawalpur Division following closely at Rs870. Meanwhile, slight increments are observed in Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Multan divisions, with a 10kg bag priced at Rs900.
Minister Bilal Yasin stressed that this reduction in flour prices will not only directly benefit consumers but also have a cascading effect on the prices of naan and roti, staple foods for many in the region. He emphasized that this initiative forms part of the Punjab government’s broader strategy to alleviate financial strain on the public and bolster economic stability within the province.
