In a significant development within the ranks of the Pakistan Army, three major generals have been elevated to the esteemed rank of lieutenant general. The distinguished trio includes Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, who holds the pivotal position of Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General.
The other two officers joining Major General Chaudhry in this prestigious promotion are Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain.
The appointments were made by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir, who has entrusted the newly minted lieutenant generals with pivotal responsibilities, although no official announcement regarding the promotions has been made public yet.
Despite their promotions, Lieutenant General Chaudhry will continue his tenure as DG ISPR, ensuring the seamless dissemination of information and maintaining public relations for the armed forces. Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari will take charge as Commander of 11 Corps in Peshawar, while Lieutenant General Hussain is appointed as the Chief of Logistics Services at GHQ.
Adding to their illustrious careers, Lieutenant General Bukhari, a graduate of the 84th Long Course, was bestowed with the prestigious Sword of Honour, a testament to his outstanding leadership and dedication. On the other hand, Lieutenant General Hussain, hailing from Hunza, was honored with the Presidential Gold Medal, reflecting his exceptional service and commitment to duty.
Prior to their elevation, both Lieutenant Generals Bukhari and Hussain served diligently as Vice Chiefs of General Staff at GHQ, showcasing their expertise and competence in strategic military planning.
The promotion of these three distinguished officers underscores the Pakistan Army’s commitment to nurturing talent and recognizing merit within its ranks, ensuring a robust leadership structure to safeguard the nation’s security and interests.
