Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz once again made headlines as she attended the passing-out parade of the Elite Force in Lahore today, donning the prestigious uniform amidst ongoing criticism.
Undeterred by previous backlash, CM Maryam Nawaz proudly wore the charcoal black Elite Force uniform, emphasizing the significance of national service that transcends individual identities.
“This is not a uniform, it is a national service that comes to the sons and daughters of a few nations,” stated the provincial chief minister, underscoring the honor and responsibility associated with the attire.
This appearance follows her recent controversy when she wore a khaki Punjab Police uniform during another passing-out parade. Critics questioned her authority to wear the official uniform, sparking heated debates on social media platforms.
However, the Punjab Police department clarified that CM Maryam Nawaz is entitled to wear the police uniform as per regulations, putting the criticism to rest.
In a show of unity and support, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) took to social media to commend CM Maryam’s presence at the Elite Force parade, highlighting her commitment and honor.
During her address at the parade, CM Maryam reassured the personnel of the Elite Force of adequate resources for the province’s security.
“Whatever the IG Punjab needs will be provided, there will be no shortage of resources,” she affirmed, demonstrating her commitment to bolstering law enforcement efforts.
Celebrating the inclusion of women in the Elite Force, CM Maryam expressed delight at the presence of 70 female candidates among the passing-out recruits, emphasizing the importance of gender inclusivity in security forces.
In a solemn moment, she paid tribute to the police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation, honoring their dedication and valor.
CM Maryam Nawaz’s presence at the Elite Force passing-out parade not only signifies her support for law enforcement but also reflects her determination to uphold national security and inclusivity within the ranks of security forces in Punjab.
