In a significant move to bolster international cooperation, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammad Bin Salman chaired the Saudi Arabian cabinet meeting, authorizing several new memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with Pakistan, Qatar, and Tajikistan.

The Crown Prince empowered the Saudi Minister of Energy or his deputy to engage with Pakistan to draft and sign an MoU focused on energy cooperation. This decision was reported by the Saudi Gazette and confirmed by the Minister of Media, Salman Al-Dosari.

In addition, the cabinet approved a crucial agreement between the Saudi Presidency of State Security and Pakistan aimed at combating terrorism and its financing. This move signifies the Kingdom’s commitment to regional security and counter-terrorism efforts.

Further extending its cooperative initiatives, the cabinet authorized the Minister of Interior or his deputy to negotiate and sign an MoU with Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. This agreement will encompass scientific, training, and research activities, reflecting a deepening of bilateral relations in these vital areas. Another authorized MoU involves the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, or his deputy, to discuss and finalize an agreement with Tajikistan’s Committee for Environmental Protection. This will focus on enhancing collaboration in environmental protection.

In a related development, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reassured the nation about King Salman’s health. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques is currently receiving treatment at Al-Salam Palace following a lung infection diagnosis. Chairing the weekly session of the Council of Ministers in Jeddah, the Crown Prince expressed his prayers for the King’s swift recovery and good health. He also thanked everyone who had shown concern and inquired about the King’s condition.

During the session, the Crown Prince provided a briefing on his participation in the 33rd Arab Summit held in Manama, Bahrain. He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s ongoing dedication to addressing Arab and regional issues, fostering joint Arab actions, ensuring regional security, and protecting Arab interests, all while holding the 32nd Presidency of the Arab Summit.

Minister of Media Salman Al-Dosary, speaking to the Saudi Press Agency post-session, highlighted the government’s recent strides in enhancing regional and international cooperation. He noted the cabinet’s approval of efforts to advance partnerships in various sectors with friendly nations.

The cabinet also celebrated the success of the second ministerial meeting of the Net-Zero Producers Forum, hosted by Saudi Arabia. This event showcased the Kingdom’s leading role in combating climate change and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Moreover, the Council acknowledged the outcomes of the Arab Forum of Anti-Corruption Agencies and Financial Intelligence Units, held in Riyadh. They reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s dedication to strengthening global cooperation in the fight against money laundering, terrorism financing, and corruption.

These initiatives underscore Saudi Arabia’s strategic efforts to enhance its international relations and cooperation in various crucial sectors.
