Indian CEO receives more salary than Pichai and Zuckerberg

In a recent report by Business Today, Nikesh Arora, the Indian-origin CEO of Palo Alto Networks, has been highlighted for earning a higher salary than notable tech leaders such as Google’s Sundar Pichai and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg. Arora, who heads the cybersecurity firm, is listed among the “top 10 highest earning CEOs in the US” according to a report by the Wall Street Journal, owned by Jeff Bezos.

Trailing only behind Broadcom’s CEO Hock Tan, who leads the list, Arora’s compensation package totals an impressive $151.43 million. This is significantly higher compared to Zuckerberg’s $24.40 million and Pichai’s $8.8 million.

Arora’s distinguished career path includes an impressive educational background from prestigious institutions in India and the United States. At the age of 56, he has already held several prominent positions in major tech companies. Notably, during his tenure as Chief Business Officer at Google, Arora was the highest-paid executive in 2012 with a $51 million package, eventually accumulating stock awards worth $200 million by the time of his departure.

Following his stint at Google, Arora served as the president and chief operating officer at Softbank, where his compensation was reported to be $135 million, according to Bloomberg. Arora has now been at the helm of Palo Alto Networks for six years, continuing to drive the company’s success in the competitive cybersecurity sector.
