PM Shehbaz to visit China from June 4-8

Prime Minister of Pakistan is set to embark on a four-day visit to China, aiming to further strengthen the robust bilateral relations between the two nations. This was announced by Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch during her weekly media briefing on Friday.

The visit, which underscores the strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, will include high-level meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and other senior officials. Key discussions are expected to focus on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), economic cooperation, and agricultural development.

In addition to political engagements, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will engage with representatives from leading Chinese companies and the corporate sector. He is scheduled to address the Pakistan China Business Forum, where he will highlight the vast opportunities for increased trade and investment between the two countries.

The visit will also feature tours of economic and agricultural zones, aimed at showcasing areas of potential collaboration and development. Various agreements are anticipated to be signed during the visit, further cementing the economic and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.

Azerbaijan Foreign Minister’s Visit

Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch also highlighted the recent visit of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, to Pakistan. Bayramov held discussions with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, as well as other key officials. The visit was described as highly significant, reinforcing the strong ties and cooperation between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. “Pakistan and Azerbaijan have long and strong relations,” Baloch remarked, emphasizing the enduring nature of this partnership.

Diplomatic Relations with Saint Lucia

In a notable diplomatic development, Pakistan and Saint Lucia formally established diplomatic relations on May 29. This new relationship is part of Pakistan’s broader initiative to strengthen its global diplomatic network. Over the past three years, Pakistan has successfully established diplomatic relations with various countries, enhancing its international presence and fostering new partnerships.
