In a significant stride towards environmental conservation, a one-day seminar was organized under the Green Pakistan Initiative of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). The event took place at Peer Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University, Rawalpindi, aiming to educate and inspire participants about the “Plant for Pakistan” campaign and the broader goals of the Green Pakistan Initiative.
The seminar aimed to foster awareness and active participation among the youth in the nationwide plantation drive. Experts in forestry, agriculture, and livestock were invited to share their insights, providing a comprehensive understanding of Pakistan’s land structure and forest ecosystems. Their valuable experiences enhanced the knowledge of the attendees, emphasizing the critical role of youth in combating climate change and promoting sustainable practices.
The seminar highlighted the diverse themes of the Plant for Pakistan project, including ecosystem restoration, agricultural and social plantations, and water conservation. A key focus was on involving the youth and society at large in the plantation drive, encouraging a collective effort towards environmental sustainability.
A significant milestone of the event was the launch of the Plant for Pakistan app, a tool designed to facilitate and track the progress of the plantation drive. The app aims to streamline the process, making it easier for participants to engage and contribute effectively.
At the conclusion of the seminar, certificates were distributed to participants, recognizing their commitment to the cause. The Plant for Pakistan initiative, a flagship project of the Green Pakistan Initiative under SIFC, has been pivotal in achieving substantial targets in a short period, particularly in the agriculture sector.
