Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar reiterated Pakistan’s desire for amicable relations with all its neighbors, highlighting key conditions for the normalization of ties between Pakistan and India.
In a significant statement regarding the strained relations between the two South Asian nations, Minister Tarar emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence and economic cooperation. “We want good relations with neighbors and economic recovery of Pakistan. Economic development is not possible without peace with all neighbors, but it can be done on the level of equality,” he stated.
Minister Tarar pointed to two major issues hindering the progress of bilateral relations: the treatment of minorities in India and the longstanding Kashmir conflict. “Discrimination against minorities in India and solution of Kashmir are problems for good ties between both countries,” he said. Acknowledging the challenges, he added, “Things are difficult to move forward. But it has to happen someday.”
The minister’s remarks come at a time when both countries face domestic and international pressures to improve regional stability and economic conditions. The resolution of these issues, according to Tarar, is essential for lasting peace and mutual prosperity in the region.
