In an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the federal government has declared holidays for Eid-ul-Adha from Monday, June 17 to Wednesday, June 19.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif approved the summary submitted by the Cabinet Division, confirming that all public and private institutions will be closed during these dates in observance of Eid-ul-Adha.
For several days, there had been speculation regarding the possibility of extended holidays for Eid-ul-Adha, particularly from both the federal and Punjab governments. This official announcement puts those speculations to rest, providing clear dates for the upcoming holiday period.
Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is one of the most significant Islamic holidays, commemorating the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God. The government’s decision to grant a three-day holiday aims to allow citizens ample time to observe the religious festivities and spend time with family.
