In response to mounting inquiries regarding the financial compensation of its players, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has disclosed the revised monthly salary structure for members of the national squad, highlighting substantial increases across all categories.
Effective immediately, the new salary details underscore a significant uplift aimed at enhancing the financial well-being of players representing Pakistan at the international level. The revised categorization and salaries are as follows:
Category A:
Leading the pack in Category A are star cricketers Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Mohammad Rizwan, each commanding a monthly salary of Rs4.5 million.
Category B:
Players in Category B, which includes talents like Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah, now earn up to Rs3 million per month, reflecting a notable increase from previous figures.
Category C and D:
In Categories C and D, salaries range from Rs750,000 to Rs1.5 million per month. Notably, Imad Wasim is categorized under Category C, while players such as Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, and Saim Ayub fall under Category D.
The PCB’s decision to revise player salaries comes amidst a backdrop of increased scrutiny on the financial compensation provided to members of the Pakistan Cricket Team. The updated contracts represent a substantial increase:
– Category A: 200% rise
– Category B: 144% rise
– Category C: 135% rise
– Category D: 127% rise
These adjustments aim to recognize and reward the efforts of players who compete across all formats of the game, including Test matches, One-Day Internationals (ODIs), and Twenty20s (T20s). Alongside the monthly salaries, players also receive fixed match fees and additional awards, contributing further to their overall earnings.
The move by the PCB to make these financial details transparent underscores its commitment to ensuring equitable compensation for its players and maintaining competitiveness on the global cricketing stage.
