The husband of renowned anchorperson Ayesha Jahanzeb has been arrested on charges of torture, following a complaint filed by Jahanzeb herself. The case, registered at the Sarwar Road police station, has resulted in the detention of her husband, Haris.
Ayesha Jahanzeb has accused her husband of subjecting her to violence on at least three occasions over the past year. She sustained significant injuries from the alleged abuse, which prompted her to seek legal intervention.
According to the FIR, Jahanzeb detailed the incidents of torture and injury inflicted by her husband. Responding swiftly to her complaint, the police arrested Haris and presented him before a judicial magistrate, who sanctioned a two-day physical remand.
Ayesha Jahanzeb is now engaged in a legal battle against her husband, determined to obtain justice for the physical abuse she has endured. This case has brought the serious issue of domestic violence into the spotlight, sparking discussions about victim protection and legal repercussions for abusers.
In a revealing interview last year with a private TV channel, Ayesha shared personal insights about her life. Following the death of her first husband, she felt pressured by her mother to remarry, despite having three children.
Reflecting on her second marriage, Ayesha disclosed that she confided in a close friend, who eventually proposed to her. They married in an intimate family gathering, though one of her daughters initially expressed concern. However, Haris reassured her daughter, easing her worries.
The unfolding case underscores the persistent issue of domestic violence and highlights the importance of addressing and combating such abuses to protect victims and ensure justice is served.
