Today marks World Population Day, a global observance aimed at shedding light on critical population issues and promoting awareness about family planning, gender equality, and reproductive health worldwide. This year’s theme, “To Leave No One Behind, Count Everyone,” underscores the importance of inclusivity in addressing population challenges.
In his address commemorating World Population Day, President Asif Ali Zardari emphasized the profound impact of rapid population growth on Pakistan’s socio-economic development. With Pakistan’s population recently recorded at 241 million as per the Census-2023, growing at a notable rate of 2.55 percent, President Zardari highlighted the urgent need for comprehensive strategies to manage population dynamics effectively.
President Zardari called upon all stakeholders, including government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector, to join forces in tackling these pressing challenges. He stressed the importance of collaborative efforts in implementing sustainable solutions that prioritize education, healthcare, and empowerment, ensuring a prosperous future for all Pakistanis.
