In response to rising security concerns, authorities have imposed Section 144 across Punjab and Islamabad, effectively banning assemblies, processions, and protests.
This stringent measure comes as part of enhanced security protocols due to anticipated protests and a prevailing threat of terrorism. The capital administration has issued a stern warning that any violations of this order will be met with strict action.
“Violation of Section 144 cannot be allowed under any circumstances,” a representative of the District Administration stated emphatically.
To ensure compliance, the Islamabad police force has been deployed across the city. Citizens are being urged to refrain from participating in any illegal activities during this period.
Similarly, the Punjab Home Department has announced a province-wide enforcement of Section 144 from July 26 to July 28. The Interior Department’s notification emphasizes that public gatherings, rallies, sit-ins, and protests are strictly prohibited during this time frame. Authorities highlighted the potential risk of such gatherings becoming soft targets for terrorist activities.
“The administration will ensure the implementation of the order across Punjab,” the notification stated, underscoring the seriousness of the directive.
Residents in both regions are advised to stay informed and comply with the regulations to maintain public safety and order.
