In a significant diplomatic move, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman has reached out to Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian, sending a letter aimed at strengthening relations between the two neighboring countries.
The message, personally delivered by Saudi Minister of State Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, marks a step towards improved bilateral ties. Prince Mansour arrived in Tehran on Tuesday and held discussions with top Iranian officials, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
During the visit, Prince Mansour extended the best wishes of King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the Iranian people, emphasizing the Kingdom’s desire for positive engagement.
The reception in Tehran saw the participation of high-ranking officials from both nations. Representing Saudi Arabia were Foreign Affairs Vice Minister Waleed bin Abdulkarim El-Khereiji and the Saudi Ambassador to Iran Abdullah bin Saud Al-Anzi. On the Iranian side, several prominent figures were present, including Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Ali Bagheri Kani.
This exchange comes amid ongoing efforts to stabilize and enhance regional cooperation, following years of tension. The letter is seen as part of a broader initiative to foster mutual understanding and collaboration between Riyadh and Tehran.
