Imam Dr. Salah bin Mohammad Al-Budair, the revered Imam of Masjid-i-Nabvi, arrived in Islamabad on Thursday for a seven-day goodwill visit, highlighting Pakistan’s prominent role in the Muslim world.
On Friday, Imam Al-Budair met with Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi. The Imam praised Pakistan’s significant place in the Muslim world and its important role in regional peace and stability. General Munir described the visit as an honor for the nation, and both sides expressed satisfaction with the strong bilateral relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The visit comes amid ongoing close ties between the two countries. Earlier this year, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud had noted that his visit to Pakistan would bring significant benefits and boost economic development.
During his visit, Imam Al-Budair also met with National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The Speaker welcomed the Imam warmly, noting that the visit underscored the historic and stable ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He highlighted the special significance of Masjid-i-Nabvi for millions of Muslims worldwide.
Imam Al-Budair expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and praised Pakistan’s efforts in promoting unity among Muslim nations and fostering regional peace. At the Speaker’s request, he offered a special prayer for Pakistan’s development and for solidarity among Muslims.
The visit has been marked by a strong sense of goodwill and mutual respect, reflecting the enduring friendship between the two nations.
