The Punjab Skills Development Fund (PSDF) and the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) have joined forces through a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to bring skill development training to young people all over the country, expanding beyond PSDF’s previous focus on Punjab alone.
Under the terms of the MOU, PSDF will lead the way in providing training on behalf of NAVTTC, reaching out to youth nationwide. The partnership focuses on boosting digital training initiatives and certifications for locally trained youngsters, making it easier for them to enter the international job market.
Ali Akbar Bosan, PSDF’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), stressed the importance of aligning local training with global standards. Bosan believes that by doing so, Pakistani workers can make themselves more competitive globally. Gulmina Bilal Ahmad, NAVTTC Chairperson, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the urgency of uplifting and empowering the youth.
The collaboration will cover various sectors, including Construction, Hospitality, and IT, with a goal to ensure that at least 30 percent of graduates secure employment. Training programs will be launched across 16 districts nationwide, spanning from Lahore to Muzaffarabad, aiming to equip youth with practical skills tailored to industry needs.
