PCB calls 29-player squad for Kakul training camp

In preparation for the upcoming home T20I series against New Zealand, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled a squad of 29 players who will participate in a rigorous training camp set to take place at an Army base in Kakul starting from March 26.

Among the notable players included in the squad are Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, who have been in top form recently. Additionally, emerging talents like Saim Ayub and Haseebullah have also been given the opportunity to showcase their skills.

After retracting their retirement from international cricket, Mohammad Amir and Imad Wasim are set to take part in the physical fitness camp at Kakul where they will be joined by Usman Khan and the other 26 members of the Pakistani squad ahead of the T20 World Cup set to commence in June this year.

The training camp, scheduled to conclude on April 8, aims to fine-tune the players’ abilities and strategize for the series against the Blackcaps and for the T20I World Cup. The selection committee will closely monitor the performance and fitness levels of each player before finalizing the squad for the T20I series.

Excitement is brewing among cricket enthusiasts as the Blackcaps are set to arrive in Islamabad on April 14. The series will kick off with three T20Is at Rawalpindi’s Pindi Cricket Stadium on April 18, 20, and 21, followed by two more matches at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium on April 25 and 27.
