Saudi Arabia rolls out seasonal jobs ahead of annual pilgrimage

As the countdown to Hajj, the sacred pilgrimage for Muslims, draws nearer, the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has unveiled some heartening news for job seekers. In a recent announcement reported by Gulf News, the ministry has thrown open the doors to seasonal job applications aimed at facilitating the upcoming holy month.

From supervisors to customer service representatives, mechanical technicians, engineers, and drivers, a wide array of roles are up for grabs to ensure a seamless pilgrimage experience for all involved. These positions will be stationed in key locations such as Makkah, Madinah, and Jeddah.

So, what does it take to qualify for these coveted roles? The ministry has outlined specific eligibility criteria. Prospective candidates must be Saudi nationals holding a high school diploma or higher, equipped with the necessary physical and health capabilities. Moreover, possessing a valid driving license for private, heavy, or motorcycle vehicles is a must.

But that’s not all. As reported by Gulf News, fluency in languages spoken by pilgrims, such as Uzbek, Persian, Chinese, or Malay, along with prior experience in Hajj and Umrah-related work, will be considered advantageous by the ministry.

For those eager to seize this golden opportunity, time is of the essence. The application window, accessible through the ministry’s website, is set to close on Ramadan 18 (March 28) in Saudi Arabia. Moreover, candidates must be aged between 22 and 45 and successfully pass a personal interview to be considered for these roles.

With the stage set for another profound spiritual journey, these seasonal job openings not only promise rewarding employment but also the chance to play a pivotal role in facilitating the sacred traditions of millions of pilgrims. So, don’t miss out on this chance to be a part of something truly extraordinary! Apply now and be a beacon of support during the 2024 Hajj season.
