The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Monday that security forces have successfully carried out intelligence-based operations (IBOs) resulting in the elimination of terrorists in both Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
In a statement released by the military’s media wing, it was disclosed that at least four terrorists were killed during an operation conducted in Tank district. The operation, which took place on the night of April 28 to 29, targeted a reported terrorist hideout. According to the ISPR, the security forces engaged effectively with the terrorists, resulting in their neutralization. Weapons and ammunition were also seized from the terrorists who had been involved in various terrorist activities in the region.
Local residents praised the swift action taken by the security forces, expressing support for their ongoing efforts to rid the area of terrorist threats.
Just a day prior, on April 28, another successful operation was conducted in Dera Ismail Khan district. The ISPR reported that two terrorists, identified as Faheem Nawaz alias Gandapuri and Mohsin Nawaz, were killed during an intense exchange of fire between militants and security forces. The operation, similarly based on intelligence reports, targeted terrorists involved in target killings and extortion.
The ISPR noted that weapons, ammunition, and explosives were recovered from the slain terrorists, underscoring their involvement in various terrorist activities against both security forces and innocent civilians.
