In a remarkable display of cooperation, the Pakistan Army and police in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have unveiled the newly inaugurated Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Headquarters in Peshawar. The ceremony, attended by Peshawar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Hasan Azhar Hayat, marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat terrorism in the region.
The CTD Headquarters, a testament to the collaborative efforts between the Pakistan Army and police, was inaugurated by Lieutenant General Hayat during his visit to Peshawar. The state-of-the-art facility houses a forensic lab and crime scene unit, equipped with cutting-edge technology to enhance the investigative capabilities of law enforcement agencies.
In addition to the inauguration of the CTD Headquarters, Lieutenant General Hayat also launched the operation room at the central police office. This operation room will serve as a fusion center for district communication and modern monitoring, facilitating seamless coordination among law enforcement agencies.
During his visit, Lieutenant General Hayat was briefed by police officials on the operations and strategies of the CTD, highlighting the comprehensive approach adopted to tackle terrorism in KP.
Expressing his appreciation for the efforts of the police, particularly the CTD, Lieutenant General Hayat emphasized the Pakistan Army’s commitment to supporting law enforcement agencies in their mission to eradicate terrorism from KP. He reiterated the army’s dedication to providing resources and assistance to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the police force.
