Saudi Crown Prince likely to visit Pakistan this month

In a significant development, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud is anticipated to embark on a crucial visit to Pakistan later this month, according to diplomatic sources.

This impending visit holds particular significance as it marks the first time in five years that the Saudi Crown Prince will set foot in Pakistan. His last visit to the country dates back to February 2019. Accompanying him will be a delegation of high-ranking officials.

Sources familiar with the matter indicate that during this visit, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth a staggering $5 billion in investment are likely to be inked. However, the precise dates for the Crown Prince’s visit are still under finalization.

This visit will also herald the third face-to-face meeting between Pakistan’s Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman within a span of just five weeks, underscoring the burgeoning ties between the two nations.

Adding to the momentum, a prominent trade delegation from Saudi Arabia, led by Deputy Minister for Investment Ibrahim al-Mubarak, is currently in Pakistan. The delegation’s primary objectives include exploring investment opportunities across various sectors and fostering robust partnerships with local entrepreneurs.

Comprising 50 members, the Saudi delegation boasts representatives from approximately 35 companies, spanning a diverse array of economic sectors.

Expectations are running high among Pakistani officials, who anticipate investment commitments ranging from $10 to $15 billion during the Saudi delegation’s visit.
