In a dramatic turn of events, PTI (Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf) leader Sher Afzal Marwat has openly expressed his dissatisfaction, shedding light on several contentious issues surrounding the party’s leadership and internal dynamics.
Addressing the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Marwat made startling revelations, claiming that his attempts to meet with PTI Founder Imran Khan were thwarted by obstacles raised by former ministers Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub. Marwat alleged that despite his efforts, he was denied access to Khan, with Faraz allegedly suggesting that the PML-N would not approve Marwat’s appointment as the PAC (Public Accounts Committee) chairman.
Expressing his frustration, Marwat declared his withdrawal from the race for the chairman position, citing internal resistance within the party. He asserted that PTI, once a dynamic force, had become stagnant, and lamented being sidelined by certain leaders following the February 8 elections.
Marwat recounted a series of canceled and rescheduled meetings with Imran Khan, further fueling speculation about the internal strife within PTI. He also disclosed his grievances regarding the denial of permission to organize protest rallies in Lahore and announced his disassociation from rally arrangements.
In a bold statement, Marwat declared his readiness to resign from his National Assembly seat if Khan demanded it, emphasizing his refusal to collaborate with certain leaders whom he accused of disrespecting him. He adamantly asserted his authority, challenging anyone within the party to confront him directly.
