Pakistani honoured for rescuing Indians during Hajj

In a heartwarming display of humanity and bravery, Asif Bashir, a Pakistani volunteer from Peshawar, has been hailed as a hero by Indian ministers. Bashir’s courageous actions during the Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah have saved the lives of around 26 pilgrims, including 17 Indians, amidst a severe heatwave.

Asif Bashir, who works as a database supervisor at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, did not hesitate to step in when the heatwave struck. With temperatures soaring, many pilgrims found themselves in dangerous conditions. Bashir’s quick thinking and dedication ensured that those in need received water and life-saving medicine. He even carried fainted pilgrims over several kilometers to safety.

His selfless actions have not gone unnoticed. Indian authorities in Saudi Arabia have recognized Bashir’s exceptional courage and compassion, expressing their gratitude for his life-saving efforts.

This story of cross-border heroism has struck a chord with many, highlighting the power of kindness and bravery in times of crisis.
