In a special ceremony, Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, honored Olympian Arshad Nadeem at the Army Auditorium in Rawalpindi. Arshad Nadeem made history by winning Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in an individual Olympic event.
The event was attended by many famous athletes, including members of the 1984 Olympic hockey team, the national cricket team, and other sports teams like street football and army polo. Well-known sports figures such as Jehangir Khan, Islahuddin, and Aisamul Haq were also present. Arshad Nadeem’s family, friends, and coaches joined in the celebration.
General Munir praised Arshad Nadeem for his hard work, courage, and dedication. He said that Arshad’s journey from humble beginnings to Olympic success is a great example for everyone in Pakistan.
“Arshad Nadeem’s achievement brings immense pride to the nation,” General Munir said. “He shows the spirit of perseverance and dedication that all young people should follow.”
The Army Chief also promised to support and help develop young talent in Pakistan. He emphasized that engaging and nurturing youth is important for the country’s future.
Arshad Nadeem thanked everyone for their support and encouraged young people in Pakistan to stay positive, work hard, and never give up on their dreams.
