Here are 3 likely venues for ICC Champions Trophy 2025

In a recent development reported by ESPN Cricinfo, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled its initial draft schedule for the much-anticipated 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. The proposed venues include Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, with the tournament set to take place in February.

The eight-team cricket extravaganza, spanning over two weeks, is yet to confirm its exact dates. However, the selection of venues and the tentative schedule comes following a thorough inspection conducted by a team from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Contrary to widespread speculations regarding India’s participation, the initial draft indicates that the Men in Blue are slated to play matches in Pakistan. This revelation contradicts previous media reports hinting at India’s reluctance to travel to Pakistan for the mega event.

Typically, the draft schedule undergoes multiple revisions within the ICC before its finalization. The revised schedule will be shared with broadcasters and other cricket boards for review before being officially confirmed. The next significant ICC meeting is scheduled during the global body’s annual conference in July.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi addressed the media in Lahore, expressing confidence in Pakistan’s preparations for hosting the prestigious tournament. Naqvi highlighted ongoing stadium renovation projects, acknowledging minor delays but assuring that efforts are underway to expedite the process.

The confirmed teams for the tournament include hosts Pakistan, India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, and Bangladesh.
