Google, in collaboration with its local partner Tech Valley, announced plans to establish 50 smart schools in Islamabad, equipped with cutting-edge technology and innovative learning tools. The initiative aims to revolutionize education in Pakistan’s capital city by providing students and educators access to advanced resources.
Each of the 50 smart schools will be outfitted with 30,000 Google for Education IDs, granting users access to a suite of digital tools and resources. This initiative, presented by a Google for Education team, signifies a significant step towards integrating technology into Pakistan’s education sector.
The collaboration between Google and Tech Valley extends beyond the establishment of smart schools. Google plans to conduct teacher workshops on Google for Education tools to enhance educators’ proficiency in leveraging digital resources for teaching. Additionally, a public Google Reference School will be established as a model institution showcasing best practices in educational technology integration.
Furthermore, Google aims to contribute to Pakistan’s workforce development by offering training programs in job-ready skills through Google career certificates. The initiative targets to train 2,000 youths, providing them with essential skills for employment in the digital economy.
In addition to these efforts, Google is exploring the possibility of hosting an Edutech event in collaboration with the education ministry in Pakistan. This event would serve as a platform to foster dialogue and collaboration among stakeholders in the education sector.
