In a solemn ceremony held at General Headquarters Rawalpindi, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir honored the bravery and dedication of Army personnel by presenting military awards for acts of gallantry during operations and meritorious services rendered to the nation.
The event, organized by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), saw a significant turnout of senior Army officers and the families of the awardees. Medals including Sitara-I-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-I-Basalat were conferred upon officers and soldiers, with the families of Shuhada receiving medals posthumously.
In his address, COAS General Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), paid homage to the fallen heroes, acknowledging their supreme sacrifice in defense of the motherland. He emphasized the noble nature of laying down one’s life for the nation’s defense, citing it as the epitome of patriotism.
General Munir praised the unwavering spirit of the courageous families of the Shuhada, recognizing their resilience in the face of profound loss. He reiterated the significance of the sacrifices made by the Shuhada and Ghazis, stating that Pakistan’s independence and security are indebted to the indomitable valor of its gallant warriors.
In his closing remarks, COAS General Munir lauded the brave families of the Shuhada for their sacrifices and high spirits, reaffirming their status as national heroes. He emphasized that the nation owes its independence and security to the sacrifices made by these valiant warriors.
