Pakistan, the runners-up in the previous edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, have unveiled their squad for the upcoming tournament. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Babar Azam will lead the team after being reinstated as the white-ball captain earlier this year.
A notable inclusion in the squad is pacer Haris Rauf, who has recovered from an injury that sidelined him since January. His return is seen as a significant boost for Pakistan’s bowling attack.
“This is an extremely talented and balanced side that has a mixture of youth and experience,” the PCB stated. “These players have been playing together for some time and look well-prepared and settled for next month’s event.”
The PCB expressed confidence in Rauf’s fitness and performance. “Haris Rauf is fully fit and bowling well in the nets. It would have been nice if he had gotten an outing at Headingley, but we remain confident that he will continue to maintain an upward trajectory in the upcoming matches, as he will have an important role to play along with other strike bowlers in the T20 World Cup.”
Pakistan’s squad showcases a blend of seasoned players and promising talents, reflecting the team’s strategic preparation for the high-stakes tournament. The squad’s composition indicates a focused approach towards achieving success in the T20 World Cup, leveraging both experience and fresh energy.
The T20 World Cup is set to commence next month, and Pakistan’s announcement underscores their readiness and strategic intent to compete at the highest level.
