Petition filed against PCT for T20I WC losses

In a surprising turn of events, a lawyer has filed a petition in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Tamsal Zaib Naeem, demanding legal action against Pakistan’s cricket team following their defeats in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup.

The writ petition, submitted by an unnamed local lawyer, calls for a case of sedition to be registered against team captain Babar Azam and other players. The petition also extends to the team’s management, including the team manager, coach, and chief selector.

The court has responded by seeking a detailed report from the police on the matter. The Station House Officer (SHO) of Arup has been instructed to submit this report by June 21.

The ICC T20 World Cup, currently being held in the United States, has seen Pakistan face unexpected defeats. The team lost to the USA by 5 runs in a Super Over and was narrowly defeated by India, who won by 6 runs.
